I have worked in the care industry for over 10 years now. I have worked as a domiciliary carer in the community and as a healthcare worker.
For me, being a healthcare worker suits me far better as I enjoy the variety of placements and love to meet different individuals each day. I give BB healthcare my availability for the month and whenever there is a shift to cover, the office support team will call me to discuss the needs and requirements. I am very fortunate as BB has sent me to the same care settings on a regular basis. not only does this allow the service to get to know me and be reassured that I know my job, but it also allows the service to book me directly and feel part of the team. I have a profile that BB healthcare send out to all new services that book me.
This documents my experience in working in different care settings, my 5 years of experience working with Dementia clients, the training I have undertaken and confirmation of my DBS check. I am very lucky to have found a career that I love. Being able to support people to remain as independent as possible, leaves me feeling accomplished.
